Finding and saving lives by assisting in search and rescue operations!
Armed with AI and computer-vision our hexapod excels at navigating obstacles, hallways, stairs and ramps which occur in near collapsed buildings after disasters.
A versatile six-legged robot
The robot explained
To make a strong and versatile robot we use a combination of different technologies and hardware.
• Using serial and parallel kinematics with different gait types
• Shape design with radial symmetrical for added flexibility
• Stainless steel and carbon fiber for durability
• Tactile sensors on all six-foot tips to sense ground contact
• Arduino Jetson for powerful processing
Computer vision
Navigates using three Sharp IR long distance sensors for sensing the surroundings
Smart AI
It uses a path-planning algorithm for navigating as well as a stair-climbing algorithm
Durable
Stainless steel and carbon fiber materials for durability
Tactile inputs
Tactile sensors on feet for “feeling” it’s way around obstacles
Demonstration
The robot
in action
This video demonstrates the hexapods stair climbing algorithm.
The robot is designed to tackle many different scenarios and can climb various different sets of stairs.
